This course is designed to equip you with the essential knowledge and awareness on safeguarding yourself and others.

Who is it for?

The safeguarding Professional Development workshop is ideal for new apprentices (mandatory for apprentices aged 16-18), Mentors, Team leaders, Supervisors.

How will this workshop help me?

  • Understand the term ‘safeguarding’ – Learn what is meant by ‘safeguarding’ and the key legislation.
  • Identify different types of abuse – Gain awareness of the types and signs of abuse
  • Recognise bullying and harassment – Be able to identify types of bullying
  • Gain an awareness of online risks and consequences – recognise online risks and learn how to be safe online.
  • Manage safeguarding concerns – Know how to share any concerns and the process
  • Understand PREVENT and CONTEST – gain further insight into WBTC duty of care in response to any concerns

This training session will be delivered by Michelle Gilbert who is an experienced Teacher and Trainer within the education sector. Having worked in a variety of organisations both public and private. This workshop is free for Apprentices, £75 (+qualification) for WBTC Partners, £150 (+qualification) Commercial.

Delivery

This workshop will be delivered online and will last approximately 3 hours.
