If you are seeking to improve your coaching skills as a manager or have aspirations to become a professional coach, our Coaching Professional Level 5 apprenticeship programme will be a good option for you.
The ability to coach effectively is a valuable skill that can benefit both individuals and the overall culture and performance of an organisation. A skilled coach can support their team members in enhancing their performance by fostering engagement and motivation.
Through this apprenticeship, participants will learn how to effectively work with diverse individuals and teams within an organisational setting. The focus will be on empowering and engaging with others to help them reach their professional goals.
Coaching involves leading in a manner that is non-directive, utilising deep listening and asking open-ended questions to facilitate learning. This approach differs from traditional methods of giving advice or making suggestions, and aims to support individual growth and development.

1 Emotional, Social and Self-Awareness Learners will determine the benefits of being self-aware, analyse emotional, social and multiple Intelligence theories and define mental toughness and its benefits.
2 Diversity, Inclusion and Bias Learners will discuss diversity and inclusion and how to become more inclusive at work, explain the concept of bias and how it can be overcome. They will explore the concept of transactional analysis and how to use it, analyse key motivation theories and their application. They will define integrity, values, beliefs and behaviours and their impact on coaching.
3 Learning and Reflective Practice Learners will determine the use of learnings styles, analyse the use of reflective thinking, methods and tools.
They will explore the Seven-eyed coaching supervision model and the key elements of NLP along with other theory on thinking.
4 Managing Self Learners will analyse different time management techniques and understand how to schedule coaching sessions effectively. They will look at how to maintain appropriate records and reduce conflict with other activities along with identifying energy shifts in coaching sessions.
5 Organisational Culture and Leadership styles Learners will explore various theories including what makes a team dysfunctional,
Tuckman’s Team Formation model and Belbin’s team roles.
They will analyse various leadership models including Situational Leadership, Action Centred Leadership model and Goleman’s leadership styles
6 Coaching Theory – part 1 Learners will determine good practice in coaching, the benefits of coaching, how to set up a coaching contract and plan coaching meetings.
7 Coaching Theory – part 2 Learners will explore coaching theories including non-directiveness, non-judgmentalism, unconditional positive regards, appreciative enquiry, clean language and their importance in coaching
They will explore trust in coaching and visualisation techniques.
8 Coaching Theory – part 3 Learners will explore coaching models including the GROW Model, OSCAR and PRACTICE and key questioning techniques
9 Communication Learners will understand the use of verbal/non-verbal communication and relationship management.  They will analyse feedback and conflict models.
10 Coaching, mentoring, training and counselling Learners will understand the differences and similarities between coaching mentoring training counselling and consulting.  The will explore the use of CBT.
11 Legislation Learners will look at the relevant legislation DPA,GDPR, safeguarding) coaching competencies and codes of ethics.
