BRITISH SAFETY COUNCIL CERTIFICATE IN HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE (Half day – virtual)

Time: 9:30am – 12:30pm

This workshop covers the principal aspects, elements, procedures and duties of employers and employees. It also highlights the consequences of non-compliance with health and safety legislation, the requirements for training and competence and the ways in which health and safety information can be communicated. The qualification assumes no prior knowledge. Focus is placed on the definitions of ‘hazard’ and ‘risk’, including the main hazards found in a range of workplaces and how they can cause harm, as well as the common causes of workplace accidents and ill-health. It includes the process for carrying out a risk assessment, illustrating how risk assessments can be used to reduce accidents and ill-health.

At the end of the session, attendees will be enrolled onto the British Safety Councils Online programme which includes interactive e-learning exercises, a downloadable study text and knowledge tests. Once enrolled attendees have six weeks to complete the course and assessments which, once successful, will result in a British Safety Council certificate.


SAFEGUARDING MANDATORY 1618 (Full day – face-to-face)

Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm

This is a mandatory requirement for all our 16-18 year old apprentices and for any other apprentice who may want to attend. It is delivered as a workshop with the opportunity for the attendees to achieve an NCFE Level 1 Award in Safeguarding in the Learning Environment. The aim of this workshop is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding that everyone has the right to learn, to be safe and to be respected. This, in turn, will enable learners to make sure that they are being provided with a safe and secure learning environment that promotes their health and well-being.


AN INTRODUCTION TO WELLBEING AND RESILIENCE FOR APPRENTICES – MANDATORY 1618 (Virtual)

  • Friday 21st April 2023
  • Friday 16th June 2023

Time: 9:30am – 10:30am

This is a mandatory requirement for all our 16-18 year old apprentices and for any other apprentice who may want to attend. It is a one hour virtual session where attendees will get an introduction to mental health. It will cover the signs and factors of poor mental health and how to look after this with the five steps of wellbeing; it will also cover the understanding of resilience and the importance it plays with mental health within the workplace.


TEAM WELLBEING AND RESILIENCE FOR MANAGERS (virtual)

Course Dates:

  • Friday 27th January 2023
  • Friday 12th May 2023

Time: 12:00pm – 1:30pm

This workshop is a basic introduction for managers. It touches on what to look for within your team – signs and factors of poor mental health, the five steps of wellbeing – workplace wellbeing challenge and resilience – the four factors and how to encourage others to build resilience. It will cover how to create a culture of wellbeing within the workplace, how to have a conversation with someone about mental health and where to signpost someone with poor mental health.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT (Half day virtual)

The ability to be able to effectively plan and control a project and engage others in the process, is a skill that’s prized in business. More specialised skills are required to ensure an effective project outcome is achieved. This workshop will help you to consider the importance of planning, implementing and evaluating a project to deliver success. This course is aimed at people of all roles and levels of the business who would like to develop their knowledge and understanding of Project Management.

 


EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK (Full day)

Time: 9:30am – 4:30pm

When an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners then this award for Emergency First Aid at Work will help. This will enable all attendees to have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. This is a day’s workshop where attendees will be assessed by the course tutor and then have to take a multiple-choice assessment at the end of the day.


CITIZENSHIP (Face-to-face)

Course Dates:

  • Tuesday 18th July 2023

Time: 2:00pm – 4:30pm

This is a mandatory requirement for all our 16-18 year old apprentices and for any other apprentice who may want to attend.  It is a 2 and a half hour face to face workshop where we will focus on what makes us a good citizen.  Topics covered will be around Citizenship skills, processes and methods and include:

  • Life in modern Britain, respect and difference of opinions
  • Rights & responsibilities
  • Politics & participation
  • Active citizenship including community support.

HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS (Face-to-face)

Course Dates:

  • Tuesday 21st March 2023
  • Tuesday 6th June 2023

Time: 2:00pm – 4:30pm

This is a mandatory requirement for all our 16-18 year old apprentices and for any other apprentice who may want to attend.  It is a 2 and a half hour face to face workshop where we will focus on what is a healthy relationship.  Topics covered will include what is a healthy relationship and why, issues that can arise and boundaries.


MENTORING AN APPRENTICE  (Half day – virtual)

Course Date:

  • Monday 24th April 2023
  • Monday 26th June 2023

Time: 1:30pm – 4:30pm

The success of an Apprentice not only relies on the apprentice but also the mentor. This session covers the fundamentals behind coaching and mentoring apprentices, how to coach for success and mentor effectively.


PRESENTATION SKILLS FOR APPRENTICES  (Half day – virtual)

Time: 9:30am – 12:30pm

As part of many End Point Assessment (EPA) processes apprentices will be required to deliver presentations. This short workshop will give hints and tips on best practice to enable apprentices to be fully prepared for their End Point Assessment presentations.


We reserve the right to charge non-attendance of training at a rate of £35 per attendee if less than 24hrs notice is given. This will be invoiced to your employer. Unfortunately, on some occasions courses may have to be cancelled due to low numbers and if this is the case we will aim to inform you as soon as possible.
