The effective delivery, handling, and management of central business functions are essential for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. The Business Administrator Apprenticeship is designed to support employees responsible for overseeing these tasks, helping them develop skills across various key business functions in any industry.
Business administrators play a vital role in managing a range of responsibilities within a business, requiring strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with different departments. They must also demonstrate a positive attitude, initiative, and strong priority management skills to ensure the business operates efficiently.
This apprenticeship programme will equip employees with the agility needed to deliver, maintain, and enhance central business functions. They will learn how to effectively support and collaborate with various parts of the organization, as well as engage with internal and external customers to resolve issues collaboratively.
Employees participating in this programme will be tasked with completing a live business project to showcase the skills and behaviours they are developing. This project serves as evidence of their value to the business and their ability to enhance existing processes with their newfound skills.

1 Value of their skills In this module, we will introduce group to each other, and introduce Standard, Gateway, EPA and digital tools. Learners will then examine the skills and qualities they bring to their employer, with self-assessments on learning styles, personality and Belbin team roles.
2 Organisations In this module, we will be building knowledge and understanding of UK business sectors, and the business types within those sectors, including common structures.  Group will examine external factors that influence business, and explore concepts such as sustainability and ethical practice.  We will then identify stakeholders and explore the importance of meeting their needs.
3 Project Management In this module, we will be building knowledge and understanding of the key principles of Project Management, identifying tools and techniques to plan and monitor progress against milestones.  Learners will also explore leadership styles and stakeholder management, and key skills and tools to engage key stakeholders.
4 Processes In this module, we will be building knowledge and understanding of the importance of processes within business, and the principles of process improvement, introducing concepts such as Lean, Six Sigma, 5S and TQM.  Learners will identify key processes fundamental to their role, and consider how to identify areas for improvement.
5 Business Fundamentals In this module, we will be building knowledge and understanding of fundamental business functions and processes, developing an understanding of organisational processes and practices.  Areas covered to include finance, sales and marketing.
6 Communication In this module, we will be building knowledge and understanding of communication within business, exploring verbal and non-verbal communication and models/theories behind effective communication.  Group will explore communication methods such as IT and social media, as well as collaborative tools and methods of communication that enable remote working.
7 Presentation Skills In this module, we will be building knowledge and understanding of how to create and deliver effective presentations, exploring different styles of presentation and how to engage with an audience. We will explore tools and techniques to aid effective delivery of presentations.
8 Relevant Regulations In this module, we will be building learners knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations that apply to their role, including health & safety, equality and data protection.  Learners will be aware of the consequences of non-compliance, and how they support their organisation in applying these legal requirements, through company policies and procedures.
9 Interpersonal Skills In this module, we will be exploring the models, theories and principles behind building effective relationships with those we work with and deal with in our roles, exploring how actions and behaviours can influence others, how to deal with conflict and how to support those around us.
