Engineering Summit 2018

Setting the Standard for Engineering Apprentices

In 2018 West Berkshire Training Consortium (WBTC) & Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) will be delivering the new Engineering Apprenticeship Standard. This is in response to the urgent need to meet the needs of this priority sector.

Engineering apprenticeships have never been more important in our local economy. The Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) states in its Strategic Economic Plan, 2015/16 – 2020/21 that we need a ‘greater supply of skilled people, particularly those with expertise in science, technology, engineering and mathematics’.
If you are an engineering employer who sees apprenticeships as a strategic and/or operational imperative then this summit is for you.

Summit topics include:
•    Investigating the funding options for employers of engineering apprentices

•    Providing an overview of the new Engineering Apprenticeship Standard

•    Exploring training content, duration and business impact

•    Analysing the results of engineering apprenticeships with WBTC & BCoT

A working brunch will be provided as will the chance to talk to engineering employers with successful apprenticeship programmes.
