Advice and Guidance

Advice and Guidance

WBTC are Matrix accredited to offer impartial advice. That’s really important to know when you’re starting out or perhaps changing career direction.
We offer the information, advice and guidance that suits the needs of both potential and existing learners throughout the programme. So if you’re looking to apply for any of our opportunities or progressing onto Further/Higher Education, or perhaps unsure of your next move, we can help. Simply call us 01635 35975 or email Rachel to book an appointment to speak with one of our qualified staff.

Open House
Our Team are available during Open Events and other key times, such as exam results days. Whether you are leaving school or looking to take the next step in your career and development, WBTC can help.

If you are applying for one of our programmes you’ll be invited to an interview. This is an opportunity to discuss any questions you might have and for us to provide you with some useful information such as:
    •    Programme details, structure and progression opportunities
    •    The suitability of the course to meet your aspirations
    •    Eligibility and entry requirements
    •    Review current vacancies and benefits on offer
    •    Outline any bursary funds that you may qualify for
    •    Learning support that you might need to help you get on
    •    Completing job applications
    •    CV writing techniques
    •    Preparing a personal statement
    •    Interview and presentation skills

Work Trial
We know it’s really hard to imagine what a job might be like, so we often use work trials to help you decide if a certain vocational area is for you. This gives you a really valuable insight into a job to see if it’s right for you.

For existing learners that may be progressing on to new levels of qualifications, just ask your Training Co-ordinator about the range of qualifications open to you. They’ll be happy to provide you with the information to help make an informed decision about your future.
